Like many other DC homeowners, we purchased our row home “as-is” in July of this year. We knew that we would need some work done to fix what we believed to be "minor" water damage issues. Well, long story short, it turns out the entire back of our house was falling apart from a combination of water and termite damage. Hammer has been a silver lining in this otherwise trying time. Greg has worked with us over the past 2+ months to stick as closely to our budget as possible even in the wake of new and expensive discoveries that have popped up during the remodel. Greg’s team is professional and respectful. They took our concerns seriously, including the one about keeping our two cats safe from the construction work. Although it is unfortunate that we needed the extent of work done that we did, we are very glad we chose Hammer to help us. Greg had to coordinate numerous different trades because of our extensive list of repairs, and we felt confident in both his ability to do so and the ability in the different contractors he worked with along the way. We look forward to working with Greg and Hammer in the future, hopefully on cosmetic rather than structural work!

Hammer renovated two bathrooms in our house. These were full renovations, including new floors, subfloors, and some plumbing. It was a bigger project than just a 'pull and replace' and the largest project that we have done so far. We were remodeling newbies so we appreciated the fact that Hammer could walk us through the process. Hammer helped us with the design and the selection of fixtures; documenting every step. We are very happy with the finished product, especially when I compare our bathrooms with other newly renovated bathrooms. Greg Buitrago, Jorge Castellanos and the rest of the Hammer team made sure we understood all our choices, and accommodated our schedule during the renovations. There were no bad surprises or underestimated costs. Even though we did not have a complete vision of our final product, Andres, the design expert took our ideas and preferences and created beautifully designed rooms.
We were so pleased with the bathrooms, we hired Hammer to paint the kitchen and add window casements and baseboards. The weekend project made our kitchen look new.

Hammer was easy to work with. Hammer accommodated our schedule and budget. They took full responsibility for their work and ensured that everything came out as I expected it would. I wouldn't hesitate to call them back for other projects.

Everyone on the team has a genuinely positive and friendly attitude and they were excited to help us plan and bring about the basement we wanted. The website personalized to our project was a great way to stay connected, track progress and approve selections. A member of the Hammer team was always available and promptly responsive to all our inquiries.

We recently hired Hammer to renovate our kitchen. Although we originally intended to simply replace the cabinets and appliances, Andres presented us with several different possible designs, and we ended up changing the layout of the room. Greg walked us through the process and the various options, and we realized that we could change the design without too much of a change to our budget. Everyone from Hammer was very professional and responsive throughout the process. Andres was very helpful as we made decisions about things like countertops, backsplash, and paint. Jorge, Rafael, and the rest of the team made sure all the work was done on schedule and according to the design. Even after the renovation was done, everyone at Hammer was helpful in resolving minor issues and answering questions. We would definitely hire Hammer for projects in the future.

We recently were looking to build an addition to our single family home to build an in-law suite. After multiple meetings, we decided on Hammer Contractors for this addition. Hammer Contractors were very professional and patient with our multiple questions and needs. Everyone we worked with were friendly, knowledgeable and an expert in the field. We worked with their design specialist to create the best design with the space available. The account/sales manager was very patient and provided all details and help needed on our project. The project manager communicated with us the entire time and ensured the project stayed on track as best as possible. The craftsmanship was top notch and everything was done as described in our plan. We finished the project and our in-laws have moved in and started using the space with great happiness. For our next project, we will only need to call one company, Hammer Contractors for any and all needs with our home.

The structure of the old home posed many challenges but Hammer rose to the occasion and delivered! From start to finish the entire Hammer crew collaborates with you to develop your dream renovation. Hammer Contractors just completed a multi-room renovation for me -- primarily finishing the basement but also redoing the deck and remodeling the laundry room and garage. First and foremost, the quality of the work produced by each member of the Hammer team was exemplary as well as thoughtful. Many details and finishing touches were things I never would have thought of, but very much appreciate in the finished work.
